Man verwendet ihn als vorläufigen Schutzfirnis, um das Gemälde gegen Staub oder beim Transport zu schützen. Da er sehr verdünnt ist, "erstickt" er das Bild nicht und verlangsamt die Oxydation nicht zu sehr. Die Wirkung schwächt mit der Zeit ab.
Leichter, schnell trocknender Firnis auf Dammarbasis. Zum Herausholen matter Bildstellen oder zur Wiederaufnahme der Malarbeit auf trockenen Farbschichten. Als vorläufiger Zwischenfirnis für Ölbilder verwendbar. Verdünnungsmittel : Petroleum und Terpentinöl
