Item No.: Coarse Molding Paste (3572) Pastes can be used to create a variety of effects and expressions. When used in conjunction with acrylic paints, they extend the working properties and expand the creative possibilities. Unlike gels, pastes are opaque because they contain marble dust or other fillers that create a white or clay-like surface with a variety of textures and properties. Molding pastes can also be used to create bases for painting, to create texture on a smoother surface, or to smooth a textured surface. The absorbent properties of molding pastes make it an ideal substrate for almost all painting and drawing media.
Coarse Molding Paste - thick, warm white, translucent material up to approximately 1/8 inch thick. Dries to a hard, stiff but flexible film with a tooth like fine sandpaper. Accepts wet and dry mediums very well. Mix with liquid or heavy body acrylic to produce a dense paint that holds good tips and dries matte to semi-gloss with a fine grain finish.
