Gloss
Purpose: Permanent protection of an oil painting (final cleaning)
Composition: synthetic resin, odorless turpentine substitute
Characteristics:
• Gives a high degree of gloss
• Apply after complete drying of the paint layer (minimum after 6 months)
• Non-yellowing
• Drys within a few hours
• Dry varnish layers can be removed with turpentine substitute
• Very flammable
Satin
Purpose: Permanent protection of an acrylic painting (final cleaning).
Composition: Acrylate resin, turpentine substitute, turpentine oil, matting agent (silica).
Characteristics:
·Apply after complete drying of the color film (at normal layer thickness after 4 to 5 days)
·Shake well before use
·Apply with a brush in only one layer in one direction
·Drys within a few hours
·Not yellowing
·Gives a silky-looking appearance
·Can be thinned with turpentine substitute, clean brush with turpentine substitute
·Flammable (in spray can: very flammable)
·Dry varnish layers removable with turpentine substitute
Matt
Purpose: Permanent protection of an acrylic painting (final cleaning).
Composition: acrylic resin, turpentine substitute, turpentine oil, matting agent (silica).
Characteristics:
· Apply after complete drying of the color film (at normal layer thickness after 4 to 5 days)
· Shake well before use
· Apply only one layer in one direction when applying with a brush
· Drys within a few hours
· Non-yellowing
· Gives a matte appearance
· Can be thinned with turpentine substitute, clean brush with turpentine substitute
· Flammable (in spray can: very flammable)
· Dry varnish layers can be removed with turpentine substitute.
