Liquid Water Color Designers Liquid Color is most commonly used in design and illustration. The colors are formulated with permanent dyes, contain no pigments, do not settle and are easy to mix with each other; they blend beautifully and can be applied to large areas without leaving brushstrokes. The colors are clean, bright, ideal for all graphic work.
Designers Liquid Color is also used in theater design and painting stage sets, for retouching photographs, in schools to teach the basics of color theory, as inks for calligraphy and technical drawings, and for coloring paper, papier-mâché and similar absorbent pastes in combination with acrylic paints and inks.
Designers Liquid Color is the best product for airbrushing because it does not contain pigment or resin particles that could clog the finer valves of an airbrush. However, they are not waterproof and their lightfastness is limited. Even the most durable dyes do not match the lightfastness of artist pigments and may fade over the years.
A final coat of acrylic varnish will protect the colors somewhat, but we do not recommend exposing them to direct sunlight for long periods of time.
