Product information "Kremer Calcite white 1kg (58720)"

58720 Calcite,

calcite Calcite is fairly pure, crystalline CaCO3 with 56% CaO and forms colorless, clear or translucent, easily cleavable, microscopically small to meter-high, rhombohedral-hemhedral crystals. In addition to pure, colorless calcite, there are also gray, yellow, red or brown forms that contain small impurities of iron, manganese or cobalt compounds. Calcite is the most stable, most common crystal form of lime. Most limestones and marbles are made up of more or less fine calcite crystals, and if you precipitate lime in the cold in a test tube (for example by pouring calcium chloride and soda solution together), calcite crystals can be detected under the microscope after a while
