Matte Medium Increases fluidity and reduces gloss Liquid painting medium

Creates a matte, non-reflective finish when added to acrylic paints. Mix with any acrylic paint to increase transparency and extend color, increase matte gloss, improve film integrity, facilitate paint flow, and increase paint film flexibility and adhesion. Mix with Liquitex Gloss Medium & Varnish to create a semi-gloss or satin medium. Opaque when wet, translucent when dry.
USE AS AN EXTENDER: Mix with Liquitex Soft Body Artist Color to increase volume and increase translucency while maintaining viscosity. Mix with Liquitex Heavy Body Artist Color or Basics Acrylic Color to increase volume and increase translucency while reducing the viscosity of the paint.
USE AS A FIXATIVE: Use as a matte fixative over artwork (pastel, graphite, chalk) to reduce gloss or sheen. Mix 1 part Matte Medium with 1 part distilled water and apply with a sprayer or airbrush. Excess medium applied to the surface may cause fogging.
USE AS A BASE: Recommended liquid medium for use as a transparent base (size) with excellent toothing and adhesion in place of gesso. This allows the color and texture of the base to show through. Can be used as a substitute for the rabbit skin and hide glue traditionally used for oil painting. For best results use Liquitex Clear Gesso which has more teeth for paints and pastels. Outdoor murals: If the substrate or wall is reasonably smooth, a coat of Matte Medium should be brushed onto the surface or two coats should be sprayed on before gessoing.
