The K 2040 has a profile of  2.0 x 4 cm. We use seasoned and kiln-dried pine for the stretcher frame. The wood is finger-jointed to prevent the natural tendency of the wood to warp and, thanks to multiple gluing, is almost free of warping- a high-quality handcrafted product at an extraordinarily affordable price.

The stretcher frame is available from a side length of 25 to 400 cm. We will be happy to cut the frame to your desired format for an additional charge of 5 euros per bar. Please note that the cross bars must also be cut to size.

The stretcher frame has a round edge. If you wish a 'sharp edge', it is possible against a surcharge of 5 euros per bar.

In order to obtain a stretcher frame, you need two stretcher bars of the long side, two of the shorter side and optionally a middle piece or cross and wedges.

The hard wood wedges necessary for wedging (2 pieces per bar and middle bar) are not included in the price. Please order for the stretcher bars and the cross braces https://peters-art.de/en/painting-supports/stretchers/wooden-stretchers/991/wedges-big-beech/keys-50pcs.?number=10939

If you require an additional bracing, please combine the frame with the cross bars K2060: https://peters-art.de/en/painting-supports/stretchers/wooden-stretchers/2342/stretcher-bar-k60?number=12239

The stretcher frame has a 1-fold slit from a side length of 50 cm up to a side length of 195 cm and a 2-fold slit from a side length of 200 cm.

Advice on bracing:
Under a side length of 1m no middle bars are needed. If one side length exceeds 1m, one middle bar of the shorter side length is sufficient. If both sides are more than 1m long, you need one bar per side length (a simple cross). If one side is more than 2m long, you need two middle pieces of the shorter side and one of the long side (single double cross). If both sides are more than 2m long, the stretcher bars are each double slotted, so you need two middle bars per side length (double double cross). Please select the appropriate number of middle bars.
